The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) is Australia’s largest organisation for general practitioners as well as the professions largest clinical college.  It is the national leader in setting and maintaining the standards for quality general practice, education and training, and research in Australia for all GPs.

The RACGP covers the full spectrum of information delivery types - even reaching time poor GPs, who rarely have the opportunity to sit down and read communications, but can listen to a CD or a downloaded podcast whilst driving or on the bus or train.

RACGP publications reach 35,000 GPs and specialists, and many practice nurses and practice managers who are affiliate members of the College.

There are many opportunities whereby the RACGP is able to collaborate and broadcast your message to GPs through any of these channels.

 

Australian Family Physician (AFP)
AFP is the official journal and flagship of The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

GPs have awarded AFP with greater attributes above all other GP titles. The authority, credibility and quality editorial of the journal can influence and change GPs diagnoses they consider, investigations they order and medications they prescribe.

Circulating to some 26,000 GPs and registrars plus 8000 specialists - reaching 60% of the entire medical market. Printing more than 35,000 copies each month - Australia’s highest circulating medical publication!
 
 
 
GP Review

GP Review provides a forum for presentation and discussion of College, faculty and industry news in a magazine format.  Essential reading for GPs to source what is new and on offer from QA&CPD providers and highlight education activities that GPs may wish to participate to gain valuable CPD points.

24,000 copies are distributed with AFP as a supplement five times a year.

check is the most successful self education program in the history of Australian general practice.

The monthly self education program provides 16,000+ GPs with an attractive 30 Group 1 CPD points. Each issue is dedicated to a particular topic and offers sponsors exclusive association.

check is distributed to some 14,000 RACGP members via AFP and mailed to 2000 RACGP non-member subscribing GPs.

 
 
 
RACGP Online
www.racgp.org.au  has been ranked No.1 by visits in the Health and Medical - Primary and Specialist category against other Australian websites by the web rating agency Hitwise and has been rated in the top 10 business and finance professional associations.

Friday Fax
Friday Fax is an ‘opt in’ 2-3 page newsletter that is e-mailed and faxed to an audience of some 19 000 general practitioners every Friday.

Each issue consists of College news and relevant information for GPs and provides exclusive exposure for one advertiser on the title page.

 

General Practice Essentials
General Practice Essentials (GPe) is a CD magazine, presented in the form of a radio program and goes out with AFP to 14,000 College members every other month.

Produced by the College in conjunction with Michael Schildbergers’s company Business Essentials, it includes a range of interesting interviews with a focus on general practice. GPe interviews are complemented by podcasts of the audio on the RACGP website and iTunes, plus an article in the following months issue of GP Review.

GPe communicates with GPs on different levels, and offers the option for GPs to listen to the content on CD whilst travelling (this is proving particularly popular with time poor GPs), or read GP Review, and or for the technological savvy GP, download the podcast.

 

Health Records
1.2 million RACGP Health Record folders are distributed each year providing doctors with a record management system for their patient’s health history.

RACGP provide 90% of the health record market and some of the most requested items are the Progress Notes, Health Summary and Reports Summary.

All documents provide unavoidable everyday branding with a strip advertisement on the inside cover of the folder plus additional logos on record documents.

 
National Rural Faculty - Bush Alert

The College also has a National Rural Faculty with over 6000 members - the largest of the College's academic faculties - rendering the RACGP representative of the largest body of rural GPs in Australia.
 
The National Rural Faculty was formed in 1992 to develop an education and training resonse to the rural GP workforce crisis at the time. This faculty offers a Fellowship in Advanced Rural General Practice (FARGP), which is the College's first fellowship beyond vocational fellowship (the FRACGP). Successive evaluations and independent research have established that 70% of graduates of this qualification remain in rural practice and 65% continue to deliver the advanced rural skills in which they trained. 
 
The Faculty distributes its own newsletter, "Bush Alert" to members and interested stakeholders.
 
State Faculty Newsletters
State Faculty Newsletters are distributed to College members in each state and territory.

Each newsletter is individually published by each faculty and contains news and updates on College activities and events, as well as articles of specific interest to state or territory members.
