PriMeD Pharmacy delivers continuing education to pharmacists when they need access to education at a place and pace of their choosing
PriMeD Pharmacy is a core online Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program designed specifically for the education of community pharmacists by a joint advisory board comprising Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA) and Med-E-Serv.
Launched in October 2004 PriMeD Pharmacy education units have been designed to be used via the internet engaging pharmacists operating individually and in groups.
Pharmacists are busy people and can’t always spare extended hours for concentrated study. A unique feature of PriMeD Pharmacy is that it presents education modules in progressive 15 minute bites. So even a short break can become a productive moment for a pharmacist to complete a module.

> 900 users engage in 2+ hours of studying each month.
> Since the program’s inception more than 35,000 education units have been completed.
> 59% of activity is between 9am and 5pm each day – prime business hours!
Membership set to rise above 7000 with mandatory education
PriMeD Pharmacy complements PSA’s existing Continuing Professional Development and Practice Improvement (CPD&PI) programs and awards 2 CPD points per hour of learning completed. (PSA recommends pharmacists earn 40 CPD points per year).
In 2004 South Australia and Tasmania put in place a form of compulsory continuing education for pharmacists - soon all states will have a similar requirement.
Membership continues to rise and is expected to plateau above 7,500. This is in keeping with similar trends and statistics for other professions such as General Practitioners where CPD is mandatory.

Pharmacists completing an education program online with PriMeD Pharmacy have already demonstrated that they are proactive in setting aside time for this activity.
Each time pharmacists navigate through the PriMeD Pharmacy website to select their next 15 minute education module to complete, they are also exposed to ‘tile’ advertisements rotated down the right hand side of every page. They are in an open mindset ready to accept and absorb your message over the next 15 minutes to 2 hours plus”
Your advertisement is always present allowing for seamless interaction between clinical content and the advertising message supporting your brand or service. This is the mechanism by which pharmacists will be encouraged to engage with your message. They simply ‘click’ on your ‘tile’ which can be hyper-linked to your home page or specific page of your choice.
Advertising space is limited and will be offered in 3, 6 and 12 month contract periods.
